Couples therapy

What is couples therapy?

All relationships go through challenging periods. Couples therapy provides an opportunity to pause and create space for dialogue, understanding, and growth. In couples therapy, we help you understand the patterns in your relationship, clarify your needs, and find new ways of connecting with each other. The goal is to foster a deeper emotional bond and build a more secure and meaningful relationship.

We can also provide support during and after a separation. In such cases, the focus is on co-parenting and developing a sustainable and respectful relationship as separated parents.

Couples often seek support to:

  • Improve communication
  • Manage recurring conflicts
  • Rebuild trust after crises or infidelity
  • Strengthen intimacy and connection
  • Navigate life transitions and changes
  • Receive support during separation or divorce

We offer e.g. Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), developed by the Canadian psychologist Sue Johnson (1947–2024). EFT is a structured short-term therapy approach that typically involves 10–20 sessions.

Additional sessions may be needed when there is trauma or other deeper underlying issues.
